Alfred reigned during the second half of the 9th century, and was one of the sons of Athelwulf, the king of Wessex. Unlike most of his contemporaries, he was educated, had a knowledge of Holy Writings and spoke Latin. As the King the unified the Anglo-Saxons, Alfred generates three SAGA dice at the start of each turn, and not two as other Warlords. A warband led by Alfred can at the start of each of eacho if its Orders Phases rikk up to 8 SAGA dice, and is not limited to six dice as other warbands.
